Criteria to Join

Member Agency prospects at all levels are selectively invited to join Oklahoma Agency Alliance (OAA) and must meet the qualification standards set by OAA and SIAA. Membership offers benefits and rewards far in excess of the costs involved in membership. As a part of the largest National Alliance of Independent Agents member agencies receive more direct contracts with insurance companies, pay lower fees than other aggregators, have more third party vendor support all while remaining independent and receive agency management expertise.

Quality membership, not quantity, drives the Alliance.

  • 10% of potential Independent Strategic Member (ISM) candidates will be invited to become members once qualified.
  • The prospective member agency agrees to adhere to OAA's established reputation of insuring risks of good quality.
  • OAA can require that the ISM not insure certain risks or classes of risks if underwriting or loss experience result in undesirable loss ratios.
  • Profitable growth is what OAA offers its participating insurance companies. OAA can require corrective actions on individual policies, accounts or books of business of its members in the interest of preserving the profit sharing.
  • OAA and ISM share in all profit sharing to prevent adverse selection, based upon actual ISM loss ratios, proportionate share and the maximum loss ratio. Profit sharing is paid on sub-agent coded business only.
  • The ISM shall not accept any brokered business.

In summary, our members must:

  • Be financially stable.
  • Have errors & omissions insurance.
  • Conduct all agency business in strict compliance with insurance regulations.
